Surveys by fitness professionals have found that most people have a better chance of staying in shape when they have a home gym. Whether it’s a dedicated fitness room or a corner of a basement, garage or bedroom, a home gym is the most convenient place to work out.
Here are 5 tips for creating a home gym that will inspire you to work out more:
For a cardio workout, treadmills, stationary bikes and ellipticals are the most popular home fitness machines. Position cardio equipment in front of a window or TV to help relieve boredom.
Add some free weights for strength training. A weight stand is a good way to organize and store weights.
Paint the walls with a favorite color that will make you feel energized. Provide plenty of light.
Decorate the walls with motivational posters.
Make sure your fitness space is well ventilated. Add a fan if it heats up during the summer months.
